Steps to Boot Windows XP Faster

This trick will work only to those who have one Hard Disk Drive(HDD) on their primary IDE Channel (nothing else on 0 or 1 ) and a CD-ROM/DVD-ROM as Second Boot device. Each time you boot XP there is an updated file called NTOSBOOT-*.pf, which appears in prefetch directory and there's no need to erase any other files as the new prefetch option in XP really improves loading time of installed programs. We only want Windows XP to boot faster and not decrease its performance.

  • Open Notepad and type " del c:windowsprefetch tosboot-*.* /q " and save the file as "ntosboot.bat" in Drive C.
  • Then select Start-->Run--> and type gpedit.msc
  • A dialog box appears ,under Computer configuration double click Windows Settings and again double click Scripts(startup/shutdown) in the right pane ,then double click shutdown.
  • In the new window, click add-->Browse, locate your "ntosboot.bat" file & click "Open".
  • Click "OK", "Apply" & "OK" once again to exit.

  • Now Start-->Run-->devmgmt.msc
  • Double click on "IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers".
  • Right click on "Primary IDE Channel" and select "Properties".
  • Select the "Advanced Settings" and select 'none' instead of 'autodetect' & click "OK".

  • Come back, Right click on "Secondary IDE channel", select "Properties" and repeat the above process.
  • Reboot your computer.
Windows XP will now boot really faster..

5 Blog Mistakes To Avoid

  • STICK WITH THE BLOG THEME:
People who interested in visiting blog websites have interest in certain topics whether it is your personal life events or Technology blog or Promotion sites. If you do not stick to your theme for the majority of the entries in your blog, you will lose readership. If you are trying to profit financially from your blog via advertisers, this is right way.

  • NO FREQUENT GAPS:
The unit of time between blog entries is entirely your choice and does not matter nearly as much as consistency in keeping to your schedule, be it hourly, daily, weekly, biweekly, or monthly.IS you stay too far from blogging the readers will think that you have left from blogging world. If you need to take a break, post an entry to that effect.if you blog hourly, an occasional missed entry will be forgiven by most, but if you blog less frequently than once per week, do not Quit without an explanation.

  • AFRAID OF BLOG COMMENTS:
Always allow people to post comments to your blog, because it might become a Huge Commitment for you.there are two other risks. It is your duty to respond to all comments in some fashion, but if you choose not to, you risk being spammed by those you ignore. Spam can be dealt with, but more importantly, without the back-and-forth of discussion about comments, you risk your blog becoming a virtual chat room that some visitors will not find appealing. Blogs are about opinions, so do not be afraid to comment.

  • COMMUNICATE BLOG:
Always remember that your readers will be coming from worldwide,If they cannot understand what you are saying, they will not read your blog regularly.Of course, if your blog is geared to a specific theme where you only wish to have an audience.but make sure that is your purpose and accept that your audience may not grow to be are large as you wish. Blogging is about building communities online and sometimes that involves teaching others about your interests to expand that community.

  • SOMEWHERE ?:
The most serious mistake a blogger can make, is to forget that whatever you post on the Internet has the potential to become immortal. Because people place your blog on their favorite places, copy your blog onto
their hard drive, quote it on their blog, and print it out, whatever you say on the Internet has the potential to never go away.Additionally, remember that your blog may be sitting in computer caches all over the world. Be sure you are clear about what you want to say and how you want to say it, because it is entirely possible that
someone, somewhere will keep a copy.

Happy Blogging!

4 Tips for Searching Internet

Use the search box
In browser search box, type a keyword or phrase and then press Enter (or press Alt+Enter to display the search results in a new tab).

Tip
Press Ctrl+E to go to the search box without using the mouse.

Use search suggestions
Some search providers offer search term suggestions as you type. When you add a new search provider, you can choose to use search suggestions if the provider offers them.

Use the Address bar
In Address bar, type Find, Go, or ? followed by a keyword, website name, or phrase, and then press Enter. If you want the search results to display in a new tab, press Alt+Enter after typing the phrase. The Address bar uses your default search provider. If you want to change your default search provider or use search suggestions when you search with the Address bar, see Change or choose a search provider in Internet Explorer.

Use more than one search provider
If you do not find what you're looking for with a particular search provider, you can search using a different one. The browser search box lets you add additional search providers and switch between them to improve your search results. You can quickly change which search provider to use on a search by clicking the provider's icon below the search box..
Search more efficiently
Here are a few ideas for improving the results of searches:

Use specific words rather than generic categories. For example, instead of searching for dogs, search for a specific breed of dog.

Use quotation marks to search for specific phrases. Surrounding terms with quotation marks limits the search results to only those webpages that contain the exact phrase you've specified. Without the quotation marks, the results will include any page that contains the words you've used, regardless of what order those words are in.

Use the minus (-) sign before a keyword to tell search providers to exclude pages with that term. Using a minus sign will retrieve webpages that do not include the word. It's important not to include any spaces between the signs and the search terms (for example, -Bogart, not - Bogart).

Eliminate common words such as "a," "my," or "the," unless you're looking for a specific title. If the word is part of something you're looking for (a song title, for example), include the common word and surround the phrase with quotation marks.

Use synonyms or alternative search terms. Be creative or use a thesaurus for ideas. Type thesaurus in the search box to find an online thesaurus.

Search only a specific website or domain. Type the search term you're looking for followed by site: and the address of the website you want to search to narrow the search to that specific site. For example, to search Microsoft.com for information about viruses, type virus site:www.microsoft.com (with no spaces between site: and the domain).

Use a specialty search engine or provider, such as Google Image search, to look for pictures. Many websites offer their own special searches for anything from shopping to hobbies.

Find words or phrases on a page
Once you've found a webpage that seems like what you're looking for, you might need to find a specific word or phrase. To find a word or phrase on the page, press Ctrl+F to open the Find box. When you start typing a word in the Find box, highlighted matches will appear on the webpage, and the page will automatically scroll to the first match.
Thanks for reading

Protect Your Computer Files Away from Data Loss Problems

Reasons Lead to Computer OS Crash
1. Corrupted System Registry Files
Every Windows-based PC has something called a Windows registry. The registry contains several files that are integral to the performance and operation of your computer. Over time, some of those files can become corrupted, be misplaced or get lost altogether. When that happens, the system registry becomes compromised – and frequent crashes are all-too-common symptoms. The best way to rule this possibility in or out is by running a Windows registry-cleaning program. Such programs scan your Windows registry for problems then automatically make repairs. If you run a registry cleaner and the crashes persist, a different issue is probably causing them.

2. Disordered Files
Windows operating systems handles file organization in a way that isn't very intuitive. Basically, they break files up and fit them into gaps in the computer’s memory. As time goes by, these disorganized files can prompt frequent crashes. Luckily, a great optimization solution is built right into Windows-based PCs: the disk defragmentation utility. Although its location on a computer varies, you can generally locate it within the system and security section inside the Control Panel. By running a defrag once every few months, you may be able to keep those pesky computer crashes at bay.

3. Malware
Malicious software can take many different forms. Sometimes, it’s a virus that is accidentally unleashed after opening a strange email; other times, it's ad-ware that tags along with other information that is automatically downloaded from a website. Whatever type it is, there’s no question that malicious software can wreak havoc on a computer’s performance. Happily, there are many topnotch programs out there that regularly scan your computer for the presence of such problems – and that help guard against them, too. Buy one, install it and use it regularly; your crash issues may come to an end.
The above may not cover all of the reasons, which cause the computer system crash, but they are the main reasons and which can lead to the data loss. So, how to reduce the damage of them? Let’s take a look at below.
1. Stop using your computer right now. Keep operating on your computer will do more harm to your computer data. Stop using till you find the expert or send it to the repair shop.
2. The system crashed or the files loss situation happens occasionally, so remember building a backup for the files periodically is strongly needed.
3. For Windows OS user, you can try to modify the registry “HEKEY—LOCAL—MACHIME/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/WINDOWS/ CURRENTVERSION/EXPLORER/DESKTOP/NAMESPACE”. Build a new file here and rename it as 645FFO405081101B9F0800AA002F954E”, then restart your computer to see if the lost files are back to you again. But this is based on you didn't empty the Recycle bin.
4. For Mac user, you can try to use Time Machine or iTunes backup to restore your data if you lost data after computer faults. But this is based on a backup of the files which you already have.
5. If you don’t have backup but still want to recover lost or deleted files from your computer, you can try some freeware like Test Disk, Recuva on the net, but make sure the software you choose will not bring you any virus or ads which you don’t want.

Deal with the lost important files caused by the computer faults
According to the above methods, the things I want to let you know is that how important the backup is. Back up your files regularly can help you avoid the problems above (specifically refers to the data loss problems).
And another thing is that you are going to listen to me don’t do any process on your computer if you feel anything wrong happens on your computer because most of us are not the professors who are dealing with this kind of situation.

Offer users tips to protect computer OS
1. The most important way to protect against infection is to keep your software up-to date, including your computer operating system. Check regularly for updates or set up automatic updates.

2. Use quality Antivirus software from a well-known manufacturer. Check the manufacturer's recommendations for information such as set-up and configuration.

3. Avoid questionable sites, such as sites that offer commercial software (software that you would have to pay for normally) to download for free.

4. Avoid sites that offer software hacks and cracks. Hacks and cracks are usually a small patch or software file that circumvents copy protection or use restrictions.

5. Never open e-mail from unknown sources. If you have any doubts about an e-mail, it is better to err on the side of caution and delete it.
